Sally Sarles

Sally Sarles, a current DC composer, recently received her Masters from the University of Maryland in Composition. She enjoys collaborating with local dancers, artist and musicians from smaller personal projects to larger scale works involving grants. Diversity in her work is very important, so she is always seeking new techniques or expanding upon those already prescribed. To her, music should be enjoyment so she creates humor, irony and/or satire, always trying to vary appeal to each of her audience members.

In addition to being a composer, Sally also is an avid supporter of performing new music. In DC, she primarily chooses to perform new works, while back in Texas, where she received her bachelors in viola performance from the University of Texas at Arlington, she worked with a wider variety of periods of music with many Dallas/ Ft. Worth area symphonies, chamber groups as well as some solo work.
