As a saxophonist, C.R. Kasprzyk (cory kasp-shick) has performed as a guest artist with the New World Symphony as well as at the Spark Festival, CCRMA (Stanford University) and Carnegie Hall.  As a composer, he has received commissions and performances throughout the United States, including at Lincoln Center, the Midwest Graduate Music Consortium, the MusicX'  and Spark Festivals, Grand Valley State University, and Wiggle Pictures/Ghetto Film School Productions.  In 2006, his work for the Intrada Winds was supported by an Encore grant from the American Composers Forum.

Kasprzyk has received informal training from such prominent figures as Kaija Saariaho and Tristan Murail.  He holds a bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University as well as two masters degrees in two years from the Peabody Conservatory. Kasprzyk has served on faculty at Morgan State University and as a site coordinator with the Creative Access Outreach Group.  A recent transplant to Virginia (where he is on faculty at Bluefield College and is a contributing writer for the New River Voice) he now enjoys the photographic opportunities of mountain life.
